Filmclusive and Kaliwood Entertainment present Speed Networking—an exciting new collaboration with Cal State L.A.’s Film and Television Department. This inaugural in-person event brings together students and industry professionals for rapid one-on-one conversations designed to spark real connections. Participants will rotate through five- to six-minute meetings, gaining valuable face time with filmmakers, producers, writers, and other creative professionals. Think of it as speed networking for storytellers—fast-paced, personal, and focused on building relationships that matter.

Kaliwood Entertainment, founded by award-winning filmmaker Kelley Kali, is dedicated to empowering new voices in film. A graduate of Howard University and USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, Kelley has directed acclaimed projects such as Lalo’s House, I’m Fine (Thanks for Asking), Jagged Mind, and Kemba. Her work has been recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, SXSW, and the NAACP Image Awards. Through Kaliwood Entertainment, Kelley’s mission is simple yet powerful—to help as many people as possible make their first film and launch their creative journey.

Cal State LA's Department of Television, Film, and Media Studies encompasses production, post-production, screenwriting, media studies, and journalism, explore the power of media storytelling guided by our dedicated faculty and passionate students. The department offers graduate programs leading to a Master of Arts degree in Television and Film Studies. In addition, the Department of Television, Film & Media Studies, jointly with the Department Theatre and Dance, also offers a graduate program leading to the Master of Fine Arts degree in Television, Film and Theatre.
